Join us as we celebrate our monthly showcase of absinthe tasting and entertainment, featuring a new brand of absinthe and a variety of risqué and bawdy performances each month, along with an introduction on what makes absinthe so unique and mysterious. This month we will feature Mata Hari Absinthe Bohemian! Mr. Kellfire Bray will guide you through the complexities of absinthe’s history and rituals. We’ll have special guests Queen Esther and Cassandra Rosebeetle! Live piano with Chris Johnson! Holly Honeypot will be at the door, Ms Zelma will be tending the absinthe pours, and Mr. Nelson Lugo spin hot tunes during the breaks! The Forever Gershwin After-party! 9:30pm – 11:30pm Both shows are free and open to the public! From the Kennedy Center website: Presented in conjunction with Jason Moran’s Forever Gershwin performance with the National Symphony Orchestra, the Kennedy Center MyTix program and Community Engagement department offer a FREE pre- and post-NSO show 1920s Hot Jazz dance party. Dance along as Queen Esther and her jazz collective The Hot Five pay homage to a bevy of classic blues singers, including Bessie Smith, Alberta Hunter, and Queen Victoria Spivey. Dance instructors will be on hand to lead the audience in dancing cheek-to-cheek in the Grand Foyer and under the willow trees on the River Terrace for a magical evening that will surely be a night to remember.
