Pete Seeger 100th Birthday Celebration Frank Sinatra Park in Hoboken, NJ June 6th at 7pm FREE and open to the public! The City of Hoboken will mark the 100th birthday of Pete Seeger, the godfather of American folk music, with a free concert at Sinatra Park at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 6. The celebration will be only one of many such events around the country, but organizers and hosts Elena Skye and Boo Reiners (of Hoboken’s Demolition String Band) promise it will be one of the best. “This will actually be our third Pete Seeger tribute night,” Skye said. “ We did one about 10 years ago at Hoboken’s Pier A, and then we did one in Jamaica, Vermont, about four years ago. We just love Pete, and time goes on, and his idea of songs bringing us together and galvanizing our spirits becomes more and more relevant. As frustrating as the world can be today, we can at least get together and sing.” FEATURING: Karyn Kuhl Gene D. Plumber and his daughter Emily Turonis Kate Jacobs and her son Edward Horan Jon & Deena of the Cucumbers Queen Esther Richard Barone Gary Van Miert of the Sensational Country Blues Wonders Abbe Rivers Glenn Morrow
